Case Study 1
Family W lived on the East Coast of America with their three children ages 6, 9 and 13. Mr and Mrs W left London before having children and had lived in Japan and Holland. In 2007, Mr W was due to relocate back to England. They were keen to settle in Surrey but required help in finding suitable schools for their children– all of whom had very particular requirements. Through remote assessments, questionnaires to children and parents and guidance through the process, the three children were accepted into two different schools which have successfully catered for their needs and requirements.
Case Study 2
As a result of bereavement, Mrs D and her two daughters needed to return to Edinburgh to be closer to family. Mrs D sought our assistance as the family had always lived in the London area and were aware that the Scottish Education system has variations from that of England. The girls required a sensitive approach to the move and it was vital that their new schools were suitable for them particularly under their new circumstances. Both girls were able to gain places at prestigious schools and are adapting well to their new life.
Case Study 3
Mr O had been on a fixed contract in Singapore with his company. Mr and Mrs O were preparing to return to the UK in the summer of 2008. Their eldest child was approaching Senior School entry and their eight year old son had recently been diagnosed with Dyslexia. Work started with Family O in 2007. Shortly after this, Mrs O discovered that she was pregnant with her third child. She soon discovered that she was expecting twins! Mr and Mrs O required guidance through this exciting and difficult time and opted for our Gold package. The family are all settled back in London; their daughter is at a London day school and their son is at a prep school, with special provision for children with special needs. The twins, two boys, will probably attend the same school as their brother!
Case Study 4
Mr and Mrs S are Australian and had been resident in the UK for ten years. They have three daughters. For financial and family reasons, they decided to plan to move back to Australia permanently. The family were aware of the schools in Australia that might be suitable for the girls who were at school in independent day schools in London. After short listing their preferences of Australian schools in their chosen State, Laidlaw School Search liaised with the schools and provided an independent UK base from which the girls took their entrance exams. All three girls gained places in the same independent girls’ school.
