For parents who are relocating, the children’s education is one of the two critical areas to sort out alongside accommodation. For those already living in the area it can be an equally daunting prospect. Our comprehensive School Search Service offers expert, independent advice to enable you to choose the most appropriate school for your child.

The different components of our Service are as follows:

Initial brief from Parents

To understand the parameters, educational background and current schooling. This is most often a telephone interview.

Questionnaires

We use two, one for the parents and one for the child. The parental questionnaire covers all aspects of school preference e.g. location and accessibility, mixed vs. single sex, size, private vs. state etc but in addition it asks more inferential questions which together with the answers from the child questionnaire help us to build a profile of which schools will suit the child (and the family) from both an academic and social viewpoint.

Educational Assessment

These can be offered to children living abroad and those already in the UK. Papers are given in numeracy, literacy and verbal/non verbal reasoning where relevant. The results of this, together with any school reports help formulate the academic profile and gives the parents a clear understanding of where their child would fit academically in the English education system.

Consultation

To give specific advice on the suitability of a short list of schools drawn up based on the completed questionnaires and assessments.

We have extensive knowledge and a vast network of contacts UK wide so can offer a comprehensive school search service. Our specific area of expertise lies in London and the Home Counties.

There is always the option to have individual tuition lessons once in London to support the child in their new school or whilst waiting for a place. Several of our teachers hold the TEFL qualification so we can offer teaching English as a second language either on a short term intensive basis or as part of our regular after school programme.
